Jack Redfern had been taken to the police station, leaving bewildered customers in The Headless Pint and Lil temporarily tending the bar on her own.
'So you think that I attacked Lisa?! I haven't done anything wrong!' Jack was gripped by panic, because the last time he was talking to the police was after his wife Cassie had been killed in a car accident - so this was hardly bringing back any happy memories!
'Calm down, Mr Redfern, we just want to ask you some questions about that night and where you were, take a sip of this,' the police inspector pushed a polystyrene cup of water across the table to him.
'I could do with something stronger!' Jack replied.
'Unfortunately, I can't arrange that, you're not in the pub now...' Jack felt butterflies in his stomach as the inspector became deadly serious once more.

'Do you think it was him then?!' Kris was chatting to Jo, who was helping Lil out behind the bar.
'No way, I can't believe that Jack is capable of anything like that, don't be ridiculous!'
'Well, stranger things have happened....nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors. I bet that bloke who killed the Ipswich prostitutes seemed perfectly normal to his friends and neighbours!' Jo realised that Kris was on her soapbox, but this time it was involving someone close to her.
'Oh, shut up, Kris! I'm off to serve someone...' and Jo walked away.
'Huh, struck a nerve obviously,' Kris snorted.

Max had missed all the commotion after being in the pub toilet, but Fiona was filling him in.
'It was awful, the poor bloke looked terrified when they took him away!' Fiona was starting to get a bit tearful and Max put his arm around her.
'It'll be fine, he'll be home soon...they've got the wrong man, that's for certain.'

Back at the police station, Jack was starting to wonder even more how he got there in the first place.
'What made you bring me in in the first place then?! Has somebody in Alborford said something? Has Lisa made an accusation?' The possibilities were buzzing around his head now...
'Mr Redfern...Jack, you know I can't tell you all of that...we just need to ask you some questions and find out some more first...'
