Richard's upbringing in a wealthy Kensington household has helped and hindered him in life a great deal (something he sometimes resents, in the same way as Josie Reynolds). His first job after university brought him to Norwich, but he decided to settle in nearby Alborford. While viewing number four, he bumped into Rachel Watson, thanks to a double booking by the estate agent. They moved in together weeks later, after a passionate fling. However, Richard became totally wrapped up in his work and almost drove Rachel away at one point. Alsmost a blessing in disguise, the PR company he worked for folded earlier this year, and he's taken on bar work for the time being. Recently married Rachel and became a father to Harry.
